I Messed Up | Book Tag

Hello everyone,
I love book tags!

This one is called "I Messed Up" and it's super fun. Check out the YouTube original.

1. A character appearance that you misread and imagined differently.
Every blond character ever.

I tend to imagine all characters (unless the character is a redhead) having dark brown hair. And even if an author says a character is blond, my mind glosses over that description and defaults back to dark brown hair.

2. A character name that you’ve been pronouncing wrong.
Pretty much all the weird made up names fantasy authors come up with.

But, the two that had me the most shook when I found out the correct pronunciation were Rhysand (I thought it was "Rye-sand" but was told it was "Reese-sand"--I still pronounce it as "Rye-sand" in my head though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) and Hermione (I learned from the movie that it was pronounced "Her-my-knee" not "Her-my-own" like I've been saying it in my mind--my 14-year-old self was so shook!).

3. An overused trope that is your guilty pleasure.
 Second chance romance. I can't get enough.

4. A cliché character type that you like better on screen than reading about.
The ugly-duckling-to-beautiful-swan character because I'm a sucker for a fun makeover montages like in The Princess Diaries movie with Anne Hathaway. I love fashion/makeover montages period, and these do not translate on text at all.

5. A Word/Phrase That You Learned Because Of Its Use In A Book.
I know it was a romance book (but don't remember the title) where I found the phrase "calm your tits down" and started using all the time. It's great!

6. Have You Ever Not Read Or Completed A Required Reading Book For School?
Yes, basically all the readings in all the textbooks during my entire undergrad years. I basically spent thousands of dollars on those damn textbooks and I barely touched them. When I was feeling particularly scholarly, I skimmed at best.

7. Have you ever (or wanted to) skipped a chapter from the point of view of a character that you weren’t interested in?
I always want to skip or skim parts that are uninteresting, but no, I always power through and read ALL the parts. This is because I have a very strict rule for myself that if I don't read a book in it's entirety--word for word from beginning to end--I cannot add that book to my "read" shelf.

8. Have you ever cancelled social plans to read a book?
All the time when I was a teen. But, I find that in my adult years there aren't as many chances get together since everyone's busy with all the adult stuff now so I don't cancel anymore unless it's an emergency.
