No Disclaimers Book Tag | Romance Edition

Hello everyone,
I love this book tag because it forces you to answer the questions without explaining why you chose the book--hence, "no disclaimers." The original video seemed to have been deleted so unfortunately I can't link the creator. But, however came up with this super fun tag, thank you!

For this particular post, all my answers will be romance or new adult titles. I'm planning to do a YA version in the future.

Here we go...

1). Which trope (or tropes) in books, annoy you the most?
Student-teacher romance trope 🙅🙅

2). Which writer or writers do you feel are overrated/overhyped?
Kristen Ashley

Kennedy Fox

3). What are your least favorite books you've read, since you started blogging?

*Ahem* I'm just gonna leave these here:
My review of Taken by Storm, Delectable, and Bad Romeo.

4). A terrible ending, that ruined an otherwise quality book?
Tempted by Love by Jennifer Ryan

More like terrible, boring-ass middle (pointless "mystery," redundant scenes lifted from previous book in the series, hero/heroine have the same convo/inner thoughts about why they shouldn't be together ad nauseam) that made me not even bother to get to the end. Ugh.

5). Which Fictional Character(s) do you wish were not killed off?
Since it's not common for characters to be killed off (at least the ones that count) in romance novels, I'm changing the original question to: Which couple in a romance novel do you wish didn't end up together?

I read this book only a couple of days ago and surprisingly it's by one of my all-time favorite romance author. I wished Taylor and Jason from Just the Sexiest Man Alive didn't end up together. Taylor deserved someone better--someone who isn't a big ole spoiled actor baby 🙄🙄.

6). What are some of your bookish pet peeves?
Just to name a few:
  • ugly book covers
  • when books switch from mass market/trade paperback to hardcover mid-series
  • cracked spines
  • misleading synopsis
  • unnecessary cover changes

7). What are some books you feel should have more recognition?
Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James, Act Like It by Lucy Parker, A Little Too Far by Lisa Desrochers (my review), Everything I Left Unsaid by Molly O'Keefe (my review)

8). What are your thoughts on censorship, and banning books?
As a librarian, I am against censorship or banning books. I fully stand behind ALA's Library Bill of Rights and their stance on Intellectual Freedom.

9). Who do you tag?
If you're a romance reader, I TAG YOU!!

Happy reading,
Michelle
