Synopsis
I’ve been through hell to get to this place. To wear the perfect white dress and stand beside Royce Hale, the liar I tried desperately not to fall in love with and failed.
Or maybe I’m still trapped in hell because the devil is here too. He lurks at my side, plotting terrible ways to make me his.
It’s win at all costs in this family, and I know now just how far the Hales will go to get what they want.
But you can’t survive in a house full of lies without learning the art of deception, and once I become a Hale, I’ll show them exactly what I’ve mastered.
The Deception is the third and final book in the twisted Filthy Rich Americans trilogy. It should be read after The Initiation and The Obsession.
But, once I did get my hands on book 3, I was so nervous going in because I was firmly on Team Royce and I was worried for my precious babies, Royce and Marist. Once I started reading, though, I basically devoured this book barely taking a breath because holy cow it was a straight up ride! Nikki Sloane is a genius keeping the tension turned way up until the very end. If you're going to pick up this book, make sure you have a chunk of time sit and read because, trust me, you're going to want to keep reading until you reach the end. I know I stayed up way too late reading this book.
If you've read book 2, The Obsession, you know that it ended in a killer cliffhanger. After that prologue that got me so worried for my OTP, chapter one of The Deception picks up right at the end of The Obsession. You're right back into the thick of things with the Hale family, with Macalister's dark presence looming over and manipulating everyone, most of all our heroine Marist who gives it right back to him. I'm not going to go into any detail because it's best to go into The Deception (and the previous books in the series) completely blind. I will say though that The Deception did not disappoint, and I'm actually sad that my time with the Hales is over despite that fact that they messed me up.
If you're going to read one dark romance before the year ends, it has to be the Filthy Rich Americans series. As someone who rarely picks up dark romances, I have to say this one is top notch and not to be missed!
