Synopsis
After getting canned from her dream job this morning and played in spectacular fashion by her boyfriend this afternoon, Savannah “Savvy” Valentine is having a truly awful day. Which is why she’s currently drowning her sorrows in whiskey and self-pity in a shabby bar along the route to Las Vegas.

In light of today’s double whammy, Savvy isn’t sure why she’s still heading in the direction of her five-year high school reunion. The only reason she’d wanted to attend the reunion in Vegas in the first place was to show the captain of the football team, the guy who took her virginity and then promptly rejected her, that the captain of the math team grew up to have all enviable hot things: hot body, hot boyfriend, and hot career. Now, the only “hot” thing about Savvy Valentine is her mess.

But when a gorgeous stranger with sandy hair, a leather jacket, and motorcycle helmet walks into the bar, Savvy’s awful day suddenly looks a whole lot brighter. The man is perfection. Sexy and mysterious. And he’s heading to Las Vegas, too.

Can one wild night with a sexy stranger in the middle of nowhere lead a girl to fall desperately and deeply in love in Las Vegas? Savvy Valentine is about to find out.

Misadventures on the Rebound is only my second book in this standalone series, and the other one I read was also by Lauren Rowe. Read my thoughts about Misadventures of a College Girl here--it's actually one of my all-time favorite college romance!

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from Misadventures on the Rebound when I picked it up. I didn't read the fully synopsis, but I knew it's about a woman who's heading to Vegas for her high school reunion and she wanted to impress the boy who took her virginity and then brushed her off the next day. I don't know where I got this idea from, but had it in my head that this book was going to be a second-chance romance and I was very excited. SMH, it's not--but I thoroughly enjoyed it anyway.

Our main character is Savannah "Savvy" Valentine who lives in LA and is heading to Vegas for her 5-year reunion. But, her plans of impressing her old classmates (especially the popular boy who rejected her after taking her virginity in a closet during a Halloween party while she was dressed as a chicken) with a hot career, a hot body (she's been working out the last 8 months!), and a hot boyfriend just fell apart--she was let go at her dream job after it was taken over by another company and she just caught her boyfriend (who was also her personal trainer) having sex with another woman. One out of three is still... yeah, nope. Drowning her sorrows in a bar on her way to her reunion when in walks in the sexiest man Savvy had ever laid eyes on.

Aiden MacAllister is also heading to Vegas and found himself in the same bar as Savvy after his motorcycle broke down. After downing more drinks, getting to know each other--telling each other things they don't usually tell most people, and having the most electrifying sex Savvy has ever had, well, she's not quite ready to say goodbye to Aiden...

Misadventures on the Rebound was so fun and so unexpected! Savvy and Aiden were fantastic. I love the instant connection and chemistry between them. And turn up the heat because hot damn! These two were explosive! But, their vigorous smexin' was balanced by just how well they clicked even though they're opposite of each other. LOVE the whole opposites-attract thing the two of them had going on--that was really fun! As for the unexpected, the plot took some turns I wasn't expecting at all, but it was great! I don't want to spoil anything but Vegas + money + high stakes gambling + math and computers + hacking = the most entertaining romance book set in Vegas I've ever read!

Pick up Misadventures on the Rebound! I highly recommend!
